Notes: Herbaceous perennial wildflower commonly found in dry open woods with sandy soil. Attractive to pollinators and supports specialized native bees such as Perdita octomaculata, Melissodes fumosus, 2 Colletes species, and 6 Andrena species. It is the larval host plant for the Wavy-lined Emerald moth (Synchlora aerata) and birds eat its seeds. It is a good choice for a meadow or piedmont prairie as it naturalizes well. Can also be used along a garden border as it is less aggressive than other goldenrod species.
