Notes: Herbaceous perennial wildflower commonly found in upland wooded margins, rocky woodland bluffs, or meadows throughout the mountain and piedmont regions of NC. Attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, and songbirds eat the seeds. It can tolerate full sun but thrives in partial shade. Best used in naturalized open woods or a partially shady garden.
