Notes: Perennial climbing vine commonly found in woodland edges, open areas, and along riverbanks in the wild. Attractive to pollinators (including hummingbirds) and is the host plant for the Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae), the Variegated Fritillary (Euptoieta claudia), and the Zebra Heliconian (Heliconius charithonia). Its fruits are eaten by songbirds, small mammals, and occasionally large mammals (including humans!) Best used trailing on a fence, wall, arbor, or trellis.
