Notes: Warm season perennial grass commonly found in dry open woodlands and savannas in the wild. As a clump-forming grass, it provides shelter to wildlife and attracts butterflies. Birds and small mammals eat its seeds and it attracts beneficial insects such as ladybugs. A low-maintenance plant, it is best used as an accent or in mass plantings in borders, drought-tolerant gardens, and meadow gardens.
