Notes: Herbaceous perennial wildflower commonly found in moist meadows in the Coastal plain or Sandhills regions of NC. It is attractive to pollinators and a larval host plant for the Liatris flower moth ( Schinia sanguinea) & Liatris borer moth ( Carmenta anthracipennis). Goldfinches (Spinus tristis) like to eat the seeds. Best used in a mass planting in a pollinator garden or a naturalized meadow.
