Seashore Mallow (Kosteletzkya pentacarpos)

Notes: Herbaceous perennial commonly found in the coastal plains and almost always occurring in wetlands. It is salt-tolerant and can grow in brackish waters. It is fairly easily going and will tolerate most soil types. It is attractive to pollinators and is a larval host plant for the Painted Lady butterfly (Vanessa cardui). Birds and mammals eat its seeds. With its eye-catching pink blooms it is a good addition to any moist sunny spot in the garden.
