Notes: Herbaceous perennial wildflower commonly found in mesic mixed hardwood forests in the Piedmont and Mountains in NC. It is attractive to various types of pollinators and grows best in partially shady areas but can also grow in dry shade. Best used as a ground cover in naturalized woodlands or rock gardens.
