Notes: Ilex glabra is an evergreen shrub commonly found in bogs in the NC coastal plain. The cultivar 'Shamrock' is a female shrub known for its compact round shape. To get berries, you need a male shrub as well. Best used as a hedgerow or as a foundation shrub.
