Notes: Herbaceous perennial found in wet areas in the coastal plains and eastern Piedmont in NC. Provides important late-season nectar and pollen to native pollinators, this is a critical resource, especially for native bees. Birds eat the seeds. This species is considered vulnerable due to habitat loss. Best planted in sunny wet areas such as near a pond, rain garden, swale, or culvert.
