Blue Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum)

Native Range: Eastern North America and the Caribbean
Qualities: Attractive to pollinators, wildlife resource, NC native
Notes: Late-blooming herbaceous perennial commonly found in NC coastal plain in roadside ditches. Beloved by pollinators for its nectar-rich flowers, birds enjoy the seeds. Best used along pond borders or in meadows. Not recommended for smaller spaces as it spreads voraciously via rhizomes.
