Notes: An evergreen tree found in the NC coastal plain usually in riparian areas and wetlands. Provides essential cover for wildlife during the winter and extreme storms. It is the larval host to Hessel's Hairstreak Butterfly (Callophrys hesseli) larvae. Plant in a row as privacy screening or use in rain garden or boggy area.
