Notes: Perennial wildflower commonly found in tallgrass prairies in south-central USA. Attractive to pollinators especially bumblebees, it is also a host plant for the Wild Indigo Duskywing (Erynnis baptisiae) and several Skipper ( Hesperiidae) and Sulfur ( Pieridae) butterfly species. It has a deep taproot and likes to spread, so it is best used in a sunny open area like a prairie or meadow.
