Notes: This Herbaceous perennial is commonly found on marshy shores, alongside riverbanks, or in wet woodlands. Best put alongside fences or a trellis that it can climb. A rapidly growing plant that may require frequent division. Attractive to bees and butterflies and host plant to Pearl Crescent butterfly (Phyciodes tharos). Birds eat the seeds.
