Notes: Evergreen perennial shrub commonly found in maritime forests and wetlands in the coastal plains. Flowers are attractive to pollinators and birds and small mammals eat the fruit. Deer seldom eat it and once established it is drought-tolerant. Best used in understory plantings, foundation plantings, or near ponds. Gives your home a tropical feel.
